I thought Char was going to post something today, but she says the thing she was writing is running too long and she not only is not done with it, but now isn't sure she can post it because of the length. She's also not sure she's going to let me read it. I think if a wife uses a husband's journal for research purposes and then writes a very, very long un-blog post, he should be allowed to read it.
But I don't get a vote in that.
She may be writing about her dad's new girlfriend. We haven't met her yet, but it's not settling well with Char that her father is seeing someone just a year older than she is.
Me, I'm laughing my ass off about it, just because it bothers her ;)
Sounds like one of the latest family battles here, too. My cousin J's father (my Uncle Chris) lost his wife of 20+ years. He remarried someone a year or two older than J. There was that whole divide between J and her father for a long time - they tried to make amends but it never truly happened. Uncle Chris died, and NewWife never even told us. J went to put flowers on her mother's grave and saw a fresh grave there with a letter from NewWife to Uncle Chris (J's dad). Sad situation all the way around.
ReplyDeleteI hope they can resolve it. But she does need to get her feelings about about the whole thing, too.
Word Verification: taingly. (Um, shouldn't that be on the cough drop comments?!)
I just wanted to toss in that my word verification is 'prons'. I'll grow up one day.
ReplyDeleteOh, it doesn't bother me that much, it was just a surprise. It shouldn't be, given what a man-slut my dad is, but I guess the women in his own age group just aren't putting out the way they used to.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that he's referring to her as his girlfriend is a huge step. I think this has only happened three or four times.
I love my dad, but I kind of want to tell her to run while she can.
